Toyama Castle Park
An oasis in the city centre where everybody can relax
Located in the centre of Toyama City, Toyama Castle Park offers a striking view of the moat and tower of Toyama Castle, surrounded by lush greenery. The castle was the residence of the Maeda clan of the Toyama Domain in the Edo period (1603-1867), and has now been renovated. Toyama Castle Park is a popular relaxation spot for locals, and is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms, with throngs of people visiting in spring to admire the reflection of the flowers on the water of the moat. Toyama municipal folk museum (inside the castle tower) and Sato sukeroku memorial art museum can also be found in the park, making it a cultural paradise in addition to its beauty.
