Call Center for Foreign Tourists (JNTO) -Multilingual inquiries related to New Coronavirus-

In order to ensure the safety and security of foreign tourists in the case of emergencies, The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is operating a multilingual call center called "Japan Visitor Hotline" for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We will also respond to the inquiries related to the New Coronavirus.

Notice: Partial Closing of the Sarutobi Trail in the Kurobe Gorge Railway Keyakidaira Area

Due to rocks falling in July on the upper part of the Sarutobi Trail, access to part of the Kurobe Gorge Railway's Sarutobi trail is closed. (No access to the Sarutobi Gorge Observation Deck). Repairs are not anticipated to finish this fiscal year. Once the safety of the trail is confirmed, it will once again be opened to the public.

The Starbucks Coffee Toyama Kansui Park will close temporarily for around two months starting on Tue. October 22nd for partial interior repairs. Please check the following closing dates when visiting the park.

March 11th (Sat) -12th (Sun) Yamachosuji Hina-Dolls Festival in Takaoka

Dozo-zukuri houses transformed into Hina-dolls galleries!

This is a dolls festival that is held in the Yamachosuji area, a Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, where rows of dozo-zukuri (earthen-wall storehouse style) houses still remain. During the festival, traditional houses that are normally closed to the public, such as the Sugano House, the Dozo-zukuri Museum (used to be the Murosaki House) and the Ikadai House, are transformed into galleries displaying dolls. This is a chance to see the evolving styles of beautiful dolls and the interiors of old houses that you can’t normally visit.
