Kurobe River Electricity Memorial
Introducing the human drama and exploits of the men who risked their lives for local power generation
-
Fascinating museum in the Unazuki hot spring town!
This building introduces the history of power generation in the Kurobe Gorge using models and video. It was built in 1987 to showcase the severe and beautiful nature of the Kurobe Gorge and the history of the people who challenged it. A small electric train used for construction work is displayed in front of the building’s entrance. There are several eye-grabbing exhibits, such as a large-scale model of the Kurobe Dam, live cameras, and a panoramic model of the mountain range.
